Land in Acomb (W.R.) held by Hamo treas. 1190 × 1215 (EYC I no. 465). Said in 1221-2 to be part of treas.'s preb. (Curia Regis Rolls X 223; Bracton's Note- Book, ed. F. W. Maitland (3 vols., Cambridge, 1887) II no. 171; Yorks. Fines 1218-31 p. 46 = Cart. Treas. York no. 33; Cart. Treas. York no. 34). Church of Acomb gr. by abp. to William [of Rotherfield] treas. and his successors 23 Aug. 1227 (Reg. Gray p. 17 = Cart. Treas. York no. 29).

Newthorpe (W.R.) (not in Yorks. DB), with mills and tithes, from old preb. Sherburn, given by abp. to treas. in 1218 at time that archdcnry. of E.R. separated from treasurership (Reg. Gray p. 132; Cart. Treas. York no. 23). Preb. included vill of Holgate and tithes of corn and vegetables of Newthorpe, Sherburn in Elmet, South Milford, Lumby, Steeton Hall, Micklefield, Lotherton, Aberford and Huddleston. See also YMF II 63 and Cart. Treas. York pp. ix-x. Preb. retained by treas. after preb. Wilton created and annexed to treasurership by 7 Jan. 1242 (Cart. Treas. York no. 21; Reg. Gray p. 198; list 48).
