Provest electit.
In the counsalhous being convenit James Hammiltoun, provest,
Gabriel Cunyngham, Thomas Morsone, John Rowat, baillies, Mathow
Turnbill, [and sixteen others.] The saidis provest, baillies, and counsall,
being convenit, comperit Andro Bosuell, servitour to the rycht reverend
father in God James archibischop of Glasgow, and producit ane lettere
direct fra his lordschip to thame, desyring thame for the respectis thairin
contenit to ressave and admit Gabriel Cunynghame, ane of thair baillies,
to be provest for the yeir to cum, [and he was admitted accordingly].
Bailies,
[From a leet of nine, the archbishop nominated] Johnne Rowat,
John Cunyngham and Walter Douglas to be baillies for the yeir to cum.

and electing of the persones vnderwrittin vpoun counsale for the yeir to
cum, viz.:—Merchandis, James Hammiltoun [and twelve others;]

The provest, baillies, and counsall, convenit, hes grantit to John
Hamiltoun, sone laufull to maister Robert Hamiltoun, the first vacand
place of bursarie within the colledge of Glasgow at thair gift and
presentatioun.

The provest, baillies, and counsall hes, for sindrie gude respectis,
continewit thair statutis anent the aill, beir, and breid, quhill this day
fyftein dayis, and als the remanent actis quhill this day aucht days.

[Statutes passed in terms similar to those enacted in October in previous years.
Ordained that no higher prices than the following be charged: tallow, 36s. the stone;
candle, 45s. 4d.]
For helping the lettere of gildrie.
The provest, baillies, and counsall convenit, vnderstanding that thair
ar sindrie defectis in the letter of gildrie, quhilk by gude advyse and
deliberatioun, mon be helpit and reformit, haif thairfor concludit that
thair be sex merchandis and sex craftismen nominat and electit to sit,
advyse and deliberate vpoun the reformatioun of the said lettre of gildrie,
and to conclude thairvpoun be the advyse of the said provest, baillies,
and counsall.

The provist, baillies, and counsall convenit haif grantit for help and
support of the brig of Cathcart, ijc li.

[Ordained that ale be sold not dearer than two shillings the pint, and that the shilling
loaf weigh twelve ounces.]
Statute, counsallour.
Item, it is ordanit that na counsallour suffer thair wyfe or servant to
sell derrar aill nor is contenit in the statute abone writtin, bot that thai
observe the samyn in all points, and gif thay be fundin to contravene the
samyn not onlie the vnlawis foirsaid to be vpliftit bot thay thameselfis to
be deprivit of thair places in counsall.
