Writ to be issued.
ORDERED, that a Warrant issue, under Mr.
Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown
in Chancery, for a new Writ for Electing of a Burgess
to serve in this present Parliament, in the Room and
Stead of Mr. Hussy, formerly returned to serve for that
Place, and since deceased.
Leave of Absence.
Mr. Fra. Buller has Leave to be absent for some Time,
being made an Executor to Mr. Wise, late a Member of
this House, and now deceased.
Ecclesiastical Causes.

of a Statute, made 1 Eliz. concerning Commissioners
for Causes Ecclesiastical.
Trial of Earl of Straford.
Ordered, That the Committee, appointed to manage
the Evidence at the Trial of the Earl of Straford, shall
have Liberty to proceed upon such Articles, as they shall
think most important for the speediest Expediting of the
Trial; and to contract and proceed in such manner as
they shall think most expedient.
Ordered, That the Committee for the Earl of Straford
presently withdraw into the Court of Wards, to prepare
Heads for a Conference to be desired with the Lords,
concerning the Preventing of all Delays, and the speedier
expediting the Trial of the Earl of Straford.
Sir Edw. Hungerford, Sir Jo. Culpeper, Mr. Nath.
Fines, Mr. Martin, Sir Tho. Barrington, Mr. Cage, Mr.
Hide, are added to this Committee, as to this Business.
Royal Assent to a Bill.
The Gentleman Usher of the Lords House-; That
his Majesty was there; and did expect Mr. Speaker, and
the House of Commons, to attend him presently, concerning his Majesty's giving his Royal Assent to the Bill
for amending some Mistakes in the last Bill of Subsidies.
Fens.
Resolved, upon the Question, That the Committee for
Doctor Tomson, and the Fens, shall meet on the Thursday
after Easter Week, and not before.
Affairs of the Kingdom.
Mr. Bellassis, according to an Order Yesterday made,
went up to the Lords to desire a free Conference, touching the Matter of the last free Conference, concerning
the Affairs of the Kingdom.
Mr. Bellassis brings Answer, that their Lordships will
give a Meeting for a free Conference, presently, as is
desired.
Trial of Earl of Straford.
Sir Jo. Culpeper reports from the Committee, that was
appointed to draw up Heads for a Conference to be desired
with the Lords, concerning the Preventing of all Delays
in the Trial of the Earl of Straford; to this Purpose:
To represent to the Lords the Necessity of expediting
the Earl of Straford's Trial, in respect of the pressing
Occasions of both Houses; and of the Estate of the whole
Kingdom; which will be much interrupted and prejudiced
by the Protraction of this Trial: In this Consideration,
the House of Commons desire their Lordships, that they
would be pleased to prevent all unnecessary Delays, which
may be occasioned by the Earl of Straford his Excursions,
and impertinent Exceptions; which, as they will take
up much Time in Debate, so they may occasion frequent
Adjournments; the which we desire their Lordships to
take into Consideration, that they may be avoided.
Resolved, upon the Question, That this shall be the
Subject of the Conference.
Sir Jo. Evelyn went up to the Lords, to desire a Conference concerning the Trial of the Earl of Straford.
Sir Jo. Culpeper is to manage this Conference.
Loan from the City.
Mr. Pierrepoint reports the free Conference had with
the Lords, concerning the Affairs of the Kingdom;
That the Lords did propose, that Six of their House,
with a proportionable Number of this House, might repair
to the City, for the Obtaining of One Hundred and Twenty
thousand Pounds: Saturday is the Time prefixed for going: And they will take Order the Lord Mayor and Aldermen shall have Notice: And that the Subsidies already
granted and voted should be the Security to be proposed.
King appoints to be attended, &c.
A Message from the Lords, by Barom Henden and
Judge Reeve;
The Lords sent them to acquaint this House, that the
King expects both Houses to attend him on Saturday next
at Two of Clock, in the Afternoon, touching the Disbanding of the Irish Army, Disarming of Recusants, and Removing of Papists from Court; and, after that is ended,
there will be Eight of the Lords ready to go with Sixteen of this House to the City, about Borrowing of Monies.
Answer returned, by the same Messengers, that this
House will wait upon his Majesty at Whitehall, at the
Time; and will appoint Sixteen of their Members, to
go with Eight of the Lords to the City.
Committee to the City.
Mr. Treasurer, Mr. Pierrepoint, Sir W. Erle, Mr.
Nath. Fines, Sir Jo. Culpeper, Mr. Hampden, Ld. Digby,
Sir Tho. Barrington, Sir Gervase Clifton, Mr. Hide, Mr.
Hollis, Sir Edw. Hales, Ld. Falkland, Sir H. Mildmay,
Mr. Crue, Sir Gilbert Gerard:
These Sixteen are appointed to go with Eight of the
Lords to the City, about the Advancing of Sixscore thousand Pounds, upon the Security of the Subsidies already
granted and voted.
Trial of E. of Straford.
Sir Jo. Evelyn brings Answer, that their Lordships
will give a Meeting presently, for a free Conference, by
a Committee of the whole House, concerning the Trial
of the Earl of Straford.
Derby Election.
Upon the Report from the Committee for Privileges, of
the Case of the Election of Two Burgesses for the Town
of Derby, (the which Election was adjudged void, in respect
the Poll was denied, being legally demanded) it was
Derby Writ.
Resolved, upon the Question, That a Warrant shall
issue, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk
of the Crown in Chancery, for a new Writ, for a new
Election of Two Burgesses to serve for the said Town of
Derby, in the Stead of Mr. Allastree and Mr. Hallowes,
formerly returned to serve for that Town: And the said
Mr. Allestree and Mr. Hallowes are not to sit as Members in this House, upon that Return.

Ordered, That the Part of the Report from the Committee for the Ministers Remonstrance, which concerns
Deans and Chapters, shall be taken into Consideration
To-morrow.
