It is Ordered and Ordained, by the Lords and Commons in
Parliament assembled, That Sir Thomas Fairefax, for the more
speedy raising, perfecting, and compleating of the Army whereof
he is appointed Commander in Chief, shall have Power to take
into the same all such Lieutenants, Serjeants, and other Under
Officers and Soldiers, as he shall think fit, as well of Horse as
Foot, now or late in the several Armies under the immediate
Commands of the Lord General the Earl of Essex, the Earl of
Manchester, and Sir William Waller, and likewise all Gunners,
Gentlemen of the Ordinance, and other Officers and Soldiers,
belonging to the several Trains of Artillery in the said several
Armies.
