THE HUNDRED OF HEANE
LIES the next eastward from that of Folkestone,
being written in Domesday, Hen, but in the 7th year
of king Edward I. it was spelt as it is at present, the
archbishop of Canterbury being then lord of it.
IT CONTAINS WITHIN ITS BOUNDS THE PARISHES OF
1. POSTLING; and
2. SALTWOOD.
And the churches of those parishes, and likewise a small part of
the parish of LIMNE, the church of which is in another hundred.
