PREFACE

The object of publishing these Journals independently of the Calendar of State Papers, Colonial, has been explained in the first volume issued (1704–9).

The Journal is now carried down to December 1763.

This volume has been printed under the supervision of Mr. K. H. Ledward, an Assistant Keeper of the Records, who has also compiled the Index.
