Their lordships took into consideration the copies of two
letters from the Governor of Cape Coast Castle to the Committee
of the Company of Merchants trading to Africa, dated the 16th
of December, 1761, and 13th of February, 1762, relating, amongst
other things, to the difficulties he has met with in settling the
dispute between the Accroan Nation and the townspeople of
Winnebah, from the injurious interposition and ill offices of the
chiefs of the Dutch forts in that neighbourhood; and after some
time spent therein, a letter to Mr. Grenville, one of his Majesty's
Principal Secretaries of State, inclosing extracts of so much of the
said letters, as relates to this matter, and containing their lordships' observations thereupon, was agreed to and signed.

Read a letter from the Earl of Egremont, one of his Majesty's
Principal Secretaries of State, dated the 20th of August, 1762,
notifying his Majesty's appointment of William Franklin, Esquire,
to be Governor of New Jersey, and directing draughts of a Commission and instructions to be prepared for him; and the draught
of a Commission having been prepared accordingly, a representation thereupon to his Majesty, and a letter inclosing the same to
the Earl of Egremont, were agreed to, transcribed and signed.
