PRAYERS.
Proceedings of King's Army.
ORDERED, That Mr. Rushworth be required and
injoined to examine and search after the Passages
and Proceedings of the King's Army at Brentford, and
Parts thereabouts; and the Inhabitants of Brentford,
and the several Parts adjacent, are hereby required and
injoined to give him a true Information of all they know,
concerning these Matters; And he is to present a Relation of the whole Matter to the House.
Peake's Impeachment.
Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Ellis, Sir Edw. Master, are appointed to prepare an Impeachment against Dr. Peake.
Coinage Money.
Ordered, That the Order of Wednesday the Second of
November, injoining Sir Ralph Freeman to pay Eight hundred Pounds monthly, growing due out of the Coinage
Money in . . . Mint, for the Use of the King's Two
youngest Children, into the Exchequer, be revoked.
Ordered, That Mr. Holland be appointed to receive
the Monies growing due to his Majesty upon the Coinage
Money in the Mint; and to be accountable for them in
such Manner as both Houses shall appoint.
The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein: And
these Orders, and the Reasons thereof, to be delivered
unto the Lords at the next Conference.
Receiver of the Mint.
Mr. Holland is appointed to bring in an Ordinance for
the Appointing of himself Receiver of the Mint Monies.
Answer to the King.
Message to Lords.
Mr. Pym presented from the Committee, an Answer
to his Majesty's Message of the Twelfth of November:
Which was read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for
their Concurrence, by Sir H. Mildmay: Who likewise
carried up the Addition to the Deputy Lieutenants of
Kent: The Order concerning the Deputy Lieutenants of
Surrey: The Order for Taunton to have Three hundred
Pounds out of the Proposition Monies: The Order for
Twenty Pounds to be given to Mr. Michell, a poor distressed Minister, lately come out of Ireland: The Order
for pulling down the Sheds on the Outside of the City
Walls.
Browne's Petition, &c.
The humble Petition of Colonel John Browne was read;
and ordered to be referred to his Excellency my Lord General: And likewise the Complaints of the Petitioners.
Sufferers by Plunder.
Mr. Jo. Goodwyn presented an Order for such as were
plundered, to receive Satisfaction out of the Estates of
such as are actually in the King's Army, or contributory
to it; The which was read; and laid aside at this time.
Bishops, &c. Sequestration.
Ordered, That it be referred to Mr. Serjeant Wilde,
Mr. Glyn, Mr. Maynard, and Mr. Prideaux, to prepare
an Ordinance for sequestring the Rents and Profits of
Bishops, Deans, Deans and Chapters, according to the
Votes of both Houses; and to consider of protecting and
saving harmless the Tenants; and to bring it in To-morrow Morning.
Defence of Parliament. &c.
Sir Gilbert Gerard, Mr. Browne, Mr. Grimston, Mr.
Glyn, are appointed to prepare an Ordinance to give Power
to the Train Bands of London, Westminster, and Middlesex, to defend the Parliament and City, in opposing all that
shall come against them, by killing and slaying; and to
declare, That by Law, they had this Power formerly.
Receiver for Yorkshire.
Sir Wm. Strickland is appointed to carry up to the
Lords, the Order concerning Sir Jo. Hotham's receiving
the Proposition Monies in the County of Yorke.
Answer from Lords.
Sir H. Mildmay brings Answer, That the Lords gave
this Answer, That as to the Orders concerning the Pulling
down the Sheds about the City Walls; and the Answer to
his Majesty's last Message; they will send Answer by
Messengers of their own: To all the other Orders they
agree.
Answer to the King.
A Message from the Lords by Serjeant Whitfield and
Serjeant Glanvile;
The Lords do agree to the Answer to be sent to his
Majesty's late Message, with One Addition: Which was
"and immediately, upon the Receipt thereof, that very
Morning:" This to come in between the Word "Answer"
and the Word "Order," in the last Line but One of the
First Page: And, as to the Order concerning Sheds, they
desire that this Order may pass, instead of it; viz.
Sheds in the City.
"Ordered, To be referred to the Lord Mayor and
Sheriffs of the City of London, to survey the said Sheds;
and consider of them; and do therein what they conceive fit for the Safety of the City."
Answer to Lords.
Answer returned by the same Messengers; That, as to
the Addition to the Answer to his Majesty's late Message,
they do agree: But, as to that concerning Sheds, they
will send Answer by Messengers of their own.
City Forces.
.. Vane, .. Vassall, .. Ashe, .. Pym, are appointed
to go to my Lord General, to acquaint him, what has
been done in the City upon the Proposition of raising
Four thousand Horse.
Upon the Representing of the Difficulties propounded
by his Excellency; and to see how Matters may be so
accommodated, that the Citizens may go forward with
the said Propositions:
Ordered, That the Business in Debate this Morning,
concerning the Propositions of raising Four thousand
Horse, be referred to the Committee appointed to consult with the Committee for the Militia in London, to recommend again to the Citizens.
E. of Newcastle.
Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords,
concerning the Sequestering of the Earl of Newcastle's
Rents.
Persons to be kept in Custody.
Ordered, That Mr. Serjeant Boone, Mr. Richard Greeves,
Mr. John Cuffe, be kept still in safe Custody where they
are, in Darbyshire, until the House take further Order.
Sir J. Digby.
Ordered, That Sir John Digby be kept still in Prison
where he is, at Northampton.
Supplies of Money.
Ordered, That, To-morrow, peremptorily, the House
take into Consideration the Supplies of Monies, for the
great Occasions of the Kingdom.
