Preface

The object of publishing these Journals independently of the Calendar of State Papers, Colonial, has been explained in the preceding volume.

The Journal is now carried down to March 1741–5.

These two volumes were printed under the supervision of Mr. E. G Atkinson, formerly an Assistant Keeper of the Records, from transcripts made under his superintendence. The Indexes were compiled by Mr. F L. Bickley.

H. C. MAXWELL LYTE. Public Record Office, 29th February, 1924.
