Mandate to cause to be observed the ordinances and concession made concerning apostates in regard to Robert de Gisburg, monk of St. Peter's, Whitby, who having left the Benedictine order, desires to be reconciled thereto.

To the bishop of Lincoln. Mandate to warn and compel, by spiritual penalties, Alesya de Lascy, countess of Lincoln, widow, aged above 60, who, on her husband's death, made a vow of chastity, and received in token thereof a habit (clamidem) and ring, to observe the same, she having been ravished by Hugh Freyn, knight, and having afterwards consented to live with him in matrimony until his death. Those who attempt to make her break her vow are to be visited with ecclesiastical censures.
