The burial ground of the Royal Hospital


Key plan to position of stones

It may be of interest to note that two women who served as soldiers, Christiana Davis d. 1739, and Hannah Snell d. 1792, lie in this burial ground, but no monuments to them have been found.

Altar tomb of Portland Stone with shaped angle pilasters. Achievement of arms at west end with shield of 8 quarters so much obliterated that only a cheveron of the Cheselden quarter is visible.
